Naturally mated queens will be
available in limited quantities starting in June.
Orders will be fulfilled in queue, so we invite beekeepers to reserve queens now by placing an order. All queens are reared from breeder queens of known origin, tested in our apiaries. Upon receiving the queens, the beekeeper will also receive information about the origin of the queens.
Carnica bee colonies:
- Overwinters well even in cold regions with low feed consumption,
- Have rapid development in spring,
- Are gentle during the working procedure,
- Very good foragers of early spring pollen and nectar yields,
- Works well even in bad weather conditions,
- Have greater tendency to swarm than Buckfast bees,
- Have good disease resistance.
Characteristics similar to Carnica bee colonies with some differences:
- Have the fastest development in spring,
- Excellent foragers of early pollen and nectar yields, works well even in bad weather conditions.
Naturally mated queens are intended to replace old queens in bee colonies or to create new colonies.
Advantages of
naturally mated queens:
- The queen is mated and tested for laying and will resume laying within 3 days after introduction to the colony,
- Laying queens are easier to introduce to a colony than virgin queens.
Disadvantages of naturally mated queens:
- Naturally mated queens are available 3 weeks later than virgin queens,
- Naturally mated queens have a higher price than virgin queens.
