Overwintered Carnica instrumentally inseminated queens
We send overwintered instrumentally inseminated queen bees, starting from 29.04.2024. Queen bees are available in small quantities. If you plan to rear new queens this year, buy the overwintered instrumentally inseminated queen now and receive it in early May!
All queens and used drones are reared from selected breeder queens, tested in our apiaries. Upon receiving the queens, the beekeeper will also receive information on the origin of the queens and used drones.
Carnica bee colonies:
- Overwinters well even in cold regions with low feed consumption,
- Have rapid development in spring,
- Are gentle during the working procedure,
- Very good foragers of early spring pollen and nectar yields,
- Works well even in bad weather conditions,
- Have greater tendency to swarm than Buckfast bees,
- Have good disease resistance.
Instrumentally inseminated queens are intended for rearing new queens for your own apiary or for queen breeders to evaluate them and then rear queens for commercial purposes.
Advantages of instrumentally
inseminated queens:
- The queen is instrumentally inseminated, the origin of the drones used for insemination is known,
- Instrumentally inseminated queens are intended for rearing pure Carnica virgin queens.
Disadvantages of instrumentally inseminated queens:
- Instrumentally inseminated queens have a higher price than naturally mated queens.
* Daughters of these instrumentally inseminated
queens have not been tested. If specific queen and
her daughters are tested and evaluated, then the specific two-year-old queen is
called a selected breeder queen. The selected breeder queens correspond to a
different price category.
